The DAVIS BAG MATE can
be safely attached to the bladder of bulk bags to enable the
safe, quick and controlled release of the contents. This
dramatically reduces the time the operator is working under the
one tonne (2,205lbs) bulk bag. The
DAVIS BAG MATE also allows the user to bag from bulk bag
into smaller 20 kg bags (44.1lbs).
Its unique design allows the user to regulate the flow of a
one ton fertilizer or grain bulk bag from arm's length. This
keeps the user from having to position them under the one ton
bag, as has been observed to be the general practice. The
product therefore acts as a means to circumvent the Occupational
Health and Safety (OH&S) issues that were previously present
when loading bags in the old way.
The DAVIS BAG MATE consists
of a 7 inch (175 mm) plated steel barrel, with a 9 inch (230 mm)
square plate at the bottom that is used as a sliding shutter. A
steel band with an over-centre latch secures the barrel to the
bladder of the bulk bag. A chain lock mechanism is provided to
control the sliding door.
