The Australian Technology Showcase program is a promotional
and networking government program targeted at small and medium
sized Australian business enterprises with innovative, cutting
edge technologies. It aims to encourage exports and increase
employment by promoting member technologies on the domestic and
international markets. To apply for membership, applicants
need to submit a completed Australian Technology Showcase
Membership Application Form, with all requested information and
reports, to the ATS Management in their state or territory.
An independent assessment panel comprising members of the
innovative council of NSW will use this information to
evaluate technologies for inclusion in the Showcase.
The Australian Technology Showcase began in NSW in 1997 as an
initiative of the NSW Government’s Department of State and
Regional Development. The Showcase was established to promote
innovative Australian technologies to the world in the spotlight
of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Now a national program, the Australian Technology Showcase
continues to present member technologies professionally to
likely business partners and markets around the world, securing
benefits for member companies and, more broadly, for industry in
Australia. The Australian Technology Showcase now features more
than 400 NSW technology companies and more than a total of 500,
nationally. The success of the program depends strongly on public and
private sector collaboration and on the establishment of active
networks in Australia and internationally. The showcase reaches
across a wide range of industry sectors such as agriculture,
building & construction, environmental management, information
and communications technology, manufacturing, medical and
biotechnology and transport. Representatives from government and
industry share invaluable knowledge, expertise and experience
and help members’ gain the skills and understanding needed to
thrive in the highly competitive, global marketplace. The Australian Technology Showcase enjoys the support of many
Australian public and private sector organisations, which see
the great value the ATS brings. These include
- the Commonwealth Government, through AusIndustry
- the Governments of New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and the
Australian Capital Territory
- ATS Patrons.
